Top 4 Deceivingly Healthy Foods
More often than not that most aspects of life have certain myths and falsehoods associated with them. The same applies for food and food habits too. There are a hundred such foods that are supposedly thought to be healthy, but recent research has revealed a poorer impression of the same. Here are the top four foods you thought will never make you fat, but in real, gorging on them incessantly is probably the reason you are unable to lose weight:
• Bars of granola: A quickie food that is easy to have anywhere and anytime, the granola bar is composed of healthy ingredients like oatmeal, nuts, dry fruits and the like. Moreover, the label states that these are healthy and as nutritious as a light breakfast. However, on deeper thought, the truth might just appear. Remember, that many of the bars come coated in sugar and choco syrups. Of course, these cannot be counted as healthy in any way. In case you cannot simply control the urge to grab a granola bar, have them occasionally and only those having a low calorie count.
• Tea drinks: These are a boon and available at most supermarkets. Did you think that bidding bye to brewing tea at home would be a welcome break? Think again! The tea drinks are not exactly the same as home brewed tea. The drinks come loaded with sugars that spell doom for your health. A healthier alternative always remains that of consuming some tea at home. Even if you want to have bottled tea occasionally, pick one with low sugar concentrate.
• Rice cakes: These too are no great food, though you always thought these were filling and healthy because of the lack of any high dose of fat or carbohydrate. This is a wrong notion. Rice cakes actually are made from artificial variants and it is just their labels that house healthy ingredients.
• Frozen yogurts: These must be a popular choice for those on diet. However, it has been revealed that only fat free frozen yogurts can be consumed occasionally, if at all. The other yogurts of the frozen variety are not as healthy as you thought them to be. You must make sure that there is the presence of live active cultures in the list of ingredients for frozen yogurts or else it make no sense having them at all.
Now that you are acquainted with the truth behind the supposedly healthy foods, it is time to stay firm about not consuming them or having them discreetly. Remember, weight loss and a healthy body is totally dependent on the individual who practices it.
