Ahi tuna nestled between two whole wheat buns masquerades so well as a hearty burger in this delicious recipe, courtesy of BistroMD!

A Very Healthy Burger


10 oz ahi tuna, divided into two portions
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper
2 whole wheat hamburger buns, toasted
2 tbsp pesto
1 tomato, sliced
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
2 cups of lettuce


1. Coat the tuna with the olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
2. Grill on high heat for 2 minutes for each side, until the outside is lightly charred but the interior is still pink.
3. Serve on a toasted bun slathered with the pesto.
4. Add lettuce, tomato and onion.
