This New Year’s Eve, serve this crowd-pleaser – Delightfully Light Deviled Eggs! Overdoing treats and desserts around the holidays isn’t healthy, but nutritionists know their clients are human, and that everyone wants to celebrate the season which revolves around food. Thankfully, by incorporating healthy probiotics (or “good bacteria”) into your regular diet can help manage bloating, alleviate chronic gas, and support digestive health. Even when New Year’s Eve celebrations, holiday parties and family meals may put your stomach into overtime!
While the health benefits are clear, Blue Isle’s delicious flavor and delectable texture are the real factors making this new product the over-achieving cousin to traditional cream cheese. The spreads can be used as an alternative to cream cheese spread, a dip, in cooking, or just as an exotic “good for you” treat.
Delightfully Light Deviled Eggs
6 eggs (“Mom” prefers, cage-free, organic eggs)
1/4 cup Blue Isle’s Original Yogurt Spread
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1/8 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Smoked Spanish paprika, for garnish
Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with enough water that there’s 1 1/2 inches of water above the eggs. Heat on high until water begins to boil, then cover, turn the heat to low, and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and leave covered for 14 minutes, then rinse under cold water continuously for 1 minute. Crack eggshells and carefully peel under cool running water. Gently dry with paper towels.
Slice the eggs in half lengthwise, removing yolks to a medium bowl, and placing the whites on a serving platter. Mash the yolks into a fine crumble using a fork. Add Blue Isle Original Yogurt Spread, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper, and mix well. Evenly disperse heaping teaspoons of the yolk mixture into the egg whites.
Sprinkle with paprika and serve.
