This month’s issue of Mothering Magazine offered a wonderful article on making your own natural sodas at home with the kids this summer. Full of healthy fruit mix-in ideas and tea combinations, these refreshing drinks will definitely quench your thirst without all of the chemical additives. The recipe below by Melyssa Holik is “Mom’s” favorite!

Roobios Raspberry Soda

Ingredients

2 teaspoons Roobios (red bush) tea

2 cups boiling water

1 tablespoon honey

2 cups raspberry-blend 100 percent fruit juice

2 cups sparkling water, berry flavor

Preparation

Put loose tea in teapot and cover with boiling water. Add honey and stir, then let tea cool. Strain into pitcher. Combine with juice and sparkling water and serve cold.

Makes 1 quart.
